Newtown, Connecticut Shooting 12-14-12

"Newtown, Connecticut (CNN) -- Dressed in black fatigues and a military vest,a heavily armed man walked into a Connecticut Elementary School Friday and opened fire, shattering the quiet of this southern New England town and leaving the nation reeling at the number of young lives lost.

Within minutes, 26 people were dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School -- 20 of them children. Among the six adults killed were Dawn Hochsprung, the school's beloved principal, and school psychologist Mary Sherlach.

The shooter, identified by three law enforcement officials as 20-year-old Adam Lanza, also was killed, apparently by his own hand. Separately, his mother's body was found at a Newtown residence."

"Everyone posts on facebook how sad and horrible the shooting in Connecticut is, they talk about it, some even cry. Yet life still goes on as normal, people still post pictures of themselves, hack other peoples pages, though it may have effected us for a moment our lives still go on. But, the people who died, their family, they cant just move on. There are these horrible shootings like the shooting at the Dark Night Rises premiere, but now, a few months later we have forgotten it. It may come up in a random conversation, but it besides that it is never thought of. I don't know what my point of this is but I just thought i should share... (Some people who weren't involved may be different, I'm not saying this is about anyone, just the common people...)"

I hope the police and investigators can find more answer about the reasoning of the shooter, what ever it is it would never be an excuse to murder innocent people. Also I hope that we will find safer, securer, ways to protect schools from future atacks like this. According to the CNN News Report, i quoted at the top the principal had just put in a new security system, that made any visitors after 9:30 ring a door bell at the main door of the school and sign in at the office. So they are not sure how the shooter got it, but the first shoots were at 9:40.Ten minutes after the system turned on... Also acording to CNN News (the link at the top) there was a candle lighting ceremony in honor of those who died. The last point I would like to cover, is President Obama's ideas for gun control. Banning guns will just make it worse, like marijuana. Even though it is illegal people will still find a way to use it. Is you make carrying a gun illegal then more people will break the law and carry one. Also like at the Dark Night Rises premiere if one person had a gun they could have shot the main shooter, before he could kill so many people, some may have died, but not nearly as many as actually did.

Restart

Moving was hard for me, but I have restarted...

At school I have found new friends, lots everyone is your friend, almost everyone... Then you have your BEST FRIENDS!!! The ones you hang out with and text (if they have a phone). I have also found friends at church. But most of them are home-schooled and they live 30 miles away so i hardly get to see them. Also with dance I have joined Encore Dance Academy and i take a 1 hour Theatrical Dance class once a week and a Ballet Class once a week! :) I have also joined the White Water Swim Team, and i plan to try out for volleyball in February! :) I am able to keep in touch with my friends and family that i don't see through Facebook, and texting!

Stop looking back and walk forward

When i went on the Trek in Martins's Cove, my "Pa" sometimes had to put his hand on my back i remind me to keep moving forward...

When i moved i kept looking back, but slowly i have stopped looking back and looked toward my future. I still have the memories with my old friends but i have to move on and make new ones here. Like i once stated in Girls Scouts "make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold". I have started looking at moving here as a blessing in apposed to bad luck... I have started to feel more comfortable with and around my new friends, starting relationships that i hope will last forever.

One of the hardest thing was leaving my family. I have a very large family and lots of them I saw very often. Like at least once a week. And even though my dad lived five hours away my sister Amanda and I visited him every few months. I also have two little cousins, both six, that I love with all my heart, Jordan and Lexi. Jordan is adopted, but has been a part of my family for 4 years, I think. Any ways he has some disabilities, and every time you go some where, even if it is some where in the same room, he asks "where are you going". This is because when he was in foster care he had LOTS of different family, so when he started to become attached he would go to a new home. So me moving was hard because we are very close, and he may have felt i was leaving him. Then there is Lexi, for the first 3 weeks after i moved she would call me to tell me she missed me and loves me, and her mom would tell me she had been crying because she missed me. Another cousin of mine is my cousin Kaylyn, she is 15!! We are extremely close, and currently text ALL the time, we are bestest friends!  We would have sleep overs and just everything. So as you can most likely tell i am very close to my cousins. We all are, family reunions are CRAZY!!!
